David B. Cooper founded David B. Cooper Law, P.C. to provide criminal defense services to those seeking an experienced trial attorney who is committed to seeing everyone treated with fairness and decency.
Prior to founding David B. Cooper Law, P.C., David spent 10 years working in public defense with the Fulton County office of the Metro Conflict Defender’s office. David worked in every assignment in the Fulton County Superior Court as a conflict defender, handling all forms of criminal matters that came through the courthouse. From first appearance hearings to non-complex drug and theft cases to complex trials, David has seen some of everything. David spent 8 years assigned to major case courtrooms where he gained extensive experience representing indigent defendants accused of charges including murder, rape, kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, arson, false imprisonment, criminal street gang participation, and other alleged offenses.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, David came to Atlanta in 2000 to attend Georgia Tech and has remained a Georgia resident since that time. David received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and then began his work in public service with the Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs, where he worked in many capacities, eventually as a Statistical Analyst. This work in public service fighting for fair treatment for Georgia’s citizens motivated David to seek his law degree to allow him to better fight for fairness and decency. David graduated cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law. During his time in law school, David was an associate editor of the law review and interned with Judge Dempsey in Fulton County Superior Court, which led him to the Metro Conflict Defender’s office.
David makes the most of his free time by cycling, hiking, cooking, playing guitar, building computers, playing with his dog and cat, and otherwise learning new things.
